| The Second amendment, like every other Constitutional right, is subject to reasonable limitations. The "right" to shout "Fire" in a crowded theater is the most famous example of a reasonable limitation; the right to free speech is balanced by the public's right to be protected from panic, mayhem, injury & death. I cannot ignore the fact that there are 32,000 deaths by gunshot in America each year. | |||

It is actually a relatively simple question: Where do we want health-care dollars to go -- to health care, or to insurance-corporation profit, overhead & bureaucracy? Ron Williams, CEO of Aetna corporation, took $24,300,112 in total compensation for 2008. Cutting his compensation -- alone -- to $1 million would free up $23M, which could provide a gold-plated $10,000 medical-insurance policy for 2,300 families. Multiply this by hundreds of insurance-corporation executives and you begin to see the real problem. | |||

We need to withdraw from NAFTA, GATT and the WTO, whose policies decimated the Mexican economy and created large numbers of destitute, desperate migrant workers. We need to assure that complaints can be filed anonymously and that federal investigators will follow up on them.
